BOOMBOX DRIVER MOBILE APP

Boombox offers a mobile application, Boombox Driver, used by delivery drivers and moving partners who perform services on our behalf. This section describes the additional information we collect through the Boombox Driver app. It applies only to drivers and moving partners who use that app, not to customers.

Precise Location (Including Background Location): When a driver goes on duty in the Boombox Driver app, we collect the device's precise location, including while the app is in the background or the screen is locked. We use this location data to dispatch nearby jobs, provide customers with real-time tracking of their pickup or delivery, verify arrival at job sites, and support driver safety. Location collection stops when the driver goes off duty. Recent driver locations are retained only as long as needed to operate live tracking and are not used for advertising.

Camera and Photos: Drivers use the device camera to capture proof-of-service photos (such as loaded or delivered storage units) and to document any damage. These photos are stored with the related job record via our media storage provider, Cloudinary.

Push Notification Tokens: We collect a device push token so we can deliver job offers, job updates, and cancellation notices to the driver's device.

Diagnostics: The app uses Sentry to collect crash reports and performance diagnostics so we can identify and fix problems. Diagnostic data may include device model, operating system version, and app state at the time of an error.

Payout Information: Driver payout onboarding and payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store driver bank account details on our servers.

Drivers may revoke location, camera, or notification permissions at any time in their device settings; however, because location and notifications are how jobs are dispatched and tracked, the app cannot be used to perform deliveries without them. Drivers may contact help@boomboxstorage.com to request access to or deletion of their data.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Our Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. As stated in our Terms of Service, you must be at least 18 years old to use our website and Storage Services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to promptly delete that information. If you believe that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at help@boomboxstorage.com.

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, services, or applications that are not operated or controlled by Boombox. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you visit. Boombox is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or security of any third-party websites or services.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other factors. Frequently asked questions

Boombox is a mobile storage company that manages the pick up, storage, and delivery of your extra things. Boombox comes to you so that you never have to deal with the frustration and inconvenience of using a self-storage facility again.

With just a click of a button, you can have a storage unit delivered right to your door, saving you time, money, and stress.

Boombox is the modern storage solution to fit your busy lifestyle.

When loading your Boombox storage container in the San Francisco Bay Area, keep these four crucial concepts in mind to ensure your belongings are organized and secure:

  1. Organize Your Items into Tiers: Think of each tier as a wall or stack within the container, starting with the heaviest items at the bottom and lighter items on top. This method helps maintain balance and stability during transit.
  2. Strategize Your Loading Process: Begin your loading at the back of the container and move forward. The base of each tier, composed of your sturdiest items like dressers or desks, should support the weight of the items above.
  3. Distribute Weight Evenly: Place heavy items around the base of the container to evenly distribute weight, ensuring a stable and secure load.
  4. Fill Gaps and Protect Items: Utilize soft materials like furniture pads, blankets, and pillows to fill spaces between items, preventing shifts and scratches. Disassemble furniture to save space and wrap each piece to protect from damage.

Packing your belongings with care is equally important. Here are some tips and guidelines to protect your items during the move:

  • Protect Your Electronics: For items like flat-screen TVs, using specialized moving boxes and padding them against cushioned surfaces can prevent damage.
  • Prevent Items from Shifting: Inside boxes, use bubble wrap, packing peanuts, or packing paper to fill any voids, keeping your items stationary and safe.
  • Choose the Right Box Sizes: Small boxes are ideal for heavy, compact items; medium boxes for larger appliances and lamp shades; and large boxes for bulky, lighter items like pillows and linens. These soft items can also be used to fill gaps in the container.
  • Specialty Boxes: Utilize specialty boxes for fragile items such as lamps, mirrors, and framed artwork to ensure they travel safely. Dishes and kitchenware should be packed in sturdy boxes with additional wrapping for protection.
  • Wardrobe Boxes for Clothing: To avoid wrinkles and damage, use wardrobe boxes for clothing that needs to remain hanging.

By following these guidelines, you can ensure your belongings are packed securely and arrive safely at your destination in the San Francisco Bay Area, making your move as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Boombox arrives at your pickup location with a mobile storage unit. Our driver will provide 5 moving blankets and a floor dolly. As your unit is being packed your driver will wait with your unit. We give you 1.5 hours of free loading time. If you need more time, no worries! The driver can wait at your location while you pack at a rate of $50/hr. You can pack the unit yourself or get paired with local pros.

If you want to remember the items you've stored, we recommend taking photos of your stored items, which you can then upload later to your account page.

Once your storage unit is packed, our Boombox driver will return your unit to our secure storage facility.

Whenever you need access to your storage unit, simply log in to your Boombox account, select the unit you need delivered, and we'll deliver it right to your door. You'll never have to hassle with a San Francisco storage unit again! And best of all, our storage unit prices are better than most all San Francisco self-storage options.
Of course! All we ask is that you protect the furniture appropriately and that you let us know if your furniture item is over 100 lbs.

To ensure your furniture is safe in transit, we recommend disassembling larger items such as bed frames and dining tables.
